All Quiet on the Western Front

But the only result of this was to make Himmelstoss hate us more.’’ This quote is saying when they were training, Paul was taught of nationalism, patriotism. This requires a defeat, a conquer of a personality. This sacrifice does not require the lowest class of the servants. Paul and his other classmates learned to stand up to Himmelstoss’s power. It is always important when someone is striving for the best, they will come across many challenges their lifetime. They will learn about loyalism, patriotism. The challenges that they are going to come across is learning to be strong and stand up for themselves. Similar in the book, Paul and his other classmates were strong enough to stand up to Himmelstoss’s power. Life is all about challenges. All of us are going to come across many different challenges in our lifetime. It is very important to always be ready. You never know what will come in front of you. In other words, always be ready for the best. Another quote from the book that relates to the world is ‘‘Roughly speaking it is,’’ says Kat, and prepare for a long speech; ‘‘but the root of the matter lies somewhere. For instance, if you train a dog to eat potatoes and then afterwards put a dog to eat potatoes and then afterwards put a piece of meat in front of him, he’ll snap at it, it’s his nature. And if you give a man a little bit of authority he behaves just the same way, he snaps at it too. The army is based on that; one man must always have power over the other.’’ This quote in chapter three explains that Kat believes equality. Kat believes that if every soldier was treated equally such as same food and same pay, this will help the war. This would cause for the war the war to end quickly. He thinks that the national leaders and the generals should fight with each other. The country wins when there is a last survivor standing. This relates to the world by that everyone in this world deserves to be treated equally. If we all work together, we can achieve something great. If we all help each other we can outcome all the problems in the world and end the problems quickly. Such as the pandemic that is happening today. We can all work together and stay safe and healthy. We are all in this together.
