I came home from school on March 13, and I felt something off. Every other school started to shut down one by one. I was hoping to go back to school on Monday to take my exams. I got an email saying school will be canceled due to the virus until March 27th. I knew that school was going to end. Quarantine began. The first week I was very bored, and I slept late, and woke up late. I followed this routine for a week and a half. I did not feel energized at all, I was always tired. I slowly began to think ahead, and I told myself I have to catch up on homework and get back to my regular school routine. Later on, we got a notification from school saying it will be closed until May. May was not the last date for closure of the school. It was until end of the school year. I could not believe it. I was thinking about all the things that I would do at school. For instance, listen to my amazing teacher’s lectures, learn something new, and being energized. I did not give up. I started writing a schedule on what I am going to do in the upcoming days. My plan worked! I felt very good, energized, ready to start my day. My days felt longer, because I woke up early every day. I caught up on unfinished work, helped around the house, and learned new things, such as cooking. Last year, most of my teachers did mindfulness. I started practicing mindfulness again and it worked well. I recommend it. This pandemic is different, it taught us many lessons, and allowed us to create a story that we will tell eventually. The school thought about new ways to continue teaching us. Online teaching is the way. This allowed us to stay focused and also not be bored.

I am very glad that the school planned out a schedule for our classes. This allowed us to stay organized and be on top of our classes. When we were at school it was much more different. Going to school felt like a everyday chore. This required us to wake up earlier than we would. In the beginning going to school did not make us motivated at all. Later on the day, it felt better. We all got used to it. Either way, both types of schooling require us to be on track and want us to stay organized. The most important hing to do during this pandemic is to be with our families, take care of them and also take care of ourselves.
